Margaret "Peggy" Acer (nee) Collins, 90, of Holiday Heights section of Berkeley Township died on Tuesday June 27, 2017 at her home. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she lived in Staten Island, NY before moving to Holiday Heights in 1995. Margaret worked as manager of the jewelry department for Sears in Staten Island, NY. She was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Township. She was an active member of the Woman's Club of the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association. She is predeceased by her son, John Acer. She is survived by her loving husband John, her children Barbara Mazone (Roger) of Middletown, NJ, Patricia Polkowske of Austin, TX, Michael (Patrice) of Yardley, PA, Margaret Stack (John) of Wantagh, Long Island, NY, and Kathleen Giblin (Michael) of Middletown, NJ, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday July 5, 2017 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at the Timothy E Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St Catherine Blvd Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Thursday July 6, 2017 at St Maximilian RC Church at 10:30am. Burial to follow at the BG William C Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. I met Peggy through the DESA Auxiliary in which she was the treasurer for many years. She was a sweet and gentle person - everyone loved her. I will miss her. I pray her family will find peace and comfort in their memories of her.
