Margaret Coplen, 84, of Brick, went home to join her Lord on April 7, 2016. Raised in Red Bank by her parents. the late Peter & Catherine Romeo, Margie met her beloved husband Gene, while he was stationed at Fort Monmouth as she worked in a theater in Red Bank. Gene went off to the Korean War, but their love continued as he wrote her twice a day. Upon his return, they married and began their family. They lived in several states until Gene retired from the Air Force and they settled in New Jersey. Margie was employed as a Logistics Specialist at Fort Monmouth up until her retirement, and she was a devoted member of the Laurelton Park Baptist Church. She loved her NY Yankees and could never turn down a piece of chocolate. She was a devoted wife, mother, "granny", and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Margie was predeceased by her husband Gene in 2006 and her brothers, Joseph Romeo and Leonard Romeo. She is survived by her daughters - Su Cooper & husband Robert of Ocean, Sandy Gilliam & husband Joe of Brick, and Vicki Soos & husband James of Newark, DE; her beloved grandchildren - Marleigh Velba, Keleigh Cooper, Russell Gilliam, Jack Gilliam, Sandee McMullen & husband Curt, James Soos & wife Louisa, and Kathleen Parisi & husband Paul. She also leaves her cherished great grandchildren - Haylee, Danica, Donovan and Lily; as well as her sister Frances Witkoski & husband John of Little Egg Harbor, and her brother Ralph Romeo of Eatontown; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be at O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, on Monday April 11th from 3-7pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday April 12th at 9am, followed by interment at NJ Veterans' Cemetery, Wrightstown.
