AGE: 100 • Moorestown
Marie Cassel (nee Mitchell), passed away peacefully on Monday, March 18, 2013, at her residence in Moorestown, NJ. Born in Montgomeryville, PA, Marie was 100 years old. She was a resident of Ship Bottom for 57 years. Marie was a former resident of Lansdale, PA and Mt. Holly, NJ. Marie was a member of Eastampton and Long Beach Island Boards of Education. She will be remembered for her love of her family and her volunteer work at SOCH. Beloved wife of the late Councilman Walter Y. Cassel. Loving mother of Susan (Charles) Bush, Walter "Skip" (Maggie) Cassel and William Cassel. Sister of Althea McKinley and Arthur Mitchell. Grandmother of Chris, Dana, William and Emma. Great-grandmother of Andrew. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Marie's Life Celebration and Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Beach Haven Terrace United Methodist Church, 101 E. New Jersey Ave., Long Beach Island, NJ 08006. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beach Haven Terrace United Methodist Church and/or Southern Ocean County Hospital Auxiliary, 1140 Route 72 West, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Walt, I know this has been a very difficut time in your life. I hope you take comfort in knowing all you have done for your mom and that you gave her such joy by being there for her. She couldn't have asked for a better son. I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family.

Skip, you can take comfort in knowing that you gave the utmost devotion to your Mom over all these years. Although we never met her, knowing you gives us insight into what a wonderful Mom she was to raise such a son.
