Marjorie Karatz Obituary
Belmar - Marjorie Karatz, 96, of Belmar, passed away peacefully on January 14 at Manor by the Sea in Ocean Grove. She was born in Newark, NJ on July 1, 1922 to the late Thomas and Mary Ellen O'Halloran. She and her husband, Walter, also lived in Belleville before eventually settling in Point Pleasant Beach where they were members of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She is predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Walter, and her three sisters, Dorothy, Helen and Mildred.
The loves of Marjorie's life were her children, William Karatz and Anne Nies of Belmar, Patricia Karatz Zwirz of Belmar, and her grandchildren, Douglas Zwirz, David and Chelsea Zwirz, Lauren Zwirz, Megan and Jim Rankin, Jill and Rob Lebret, Brian Karatz, Taylor and Mike Juska and Lexy Nies. Marjorie was also a devoted great grandmother to Chase, Kellen and Cameron Rankin, Everett and Thea Lebret and Henry Zwirz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday January 19 at 10:00AM at the Church of Saint Rose, 605 Seventh Avenue , Belmar. Visitation will be at the church at 9:30AM.
Committal to follow at Saint Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt NJ.
