Mary Brown Obituary
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Frank A. and Jennie F. Roche Brown, she was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School.
Prior to retirement, she was employed by Eureka Printing.
Mary was a loving and caring aunt who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are a niece, Therese Mullaney, Randolph, N.Y.; a nephew, Michael J. Brown, Reading, Mass.; three grandnieces, Clare and Laura Mullaney and Ella Brown; a grandnephew, Aidan Brown; a sister-in-law, Louise T. Brown, Scranton; and several cousins.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph A. and Frank M. Brown.
Committal services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Cathedral Cemetery Chapel. Friends may call Friday, 5 to 8 p.m., in the McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1401 Capouse Ave., Scranton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

I thought Mary Brown was my aunt until I was a teenager. She was fun and did aunt-like stuff, and I assumed we were related because she was my cousins' aunt. I was devasted to learn we were not related by blood, that she was my cousins' aunt on the other side of the family.
I have known Mary Brown for more than 50 years. She was kind, funny, had a big heart and continued to do aunt-like stuff my whole life. I know she will be sorely missed by her "real" family, but I will miss her, too.
My deepest sympathy to the Brown and Mullaney families.
