Mary Magee (nee O'Donnell)

Jersey City - Mary Magee (nee O'Donnell), aged 94, died peacefully at Peace Care St. Ann's in Jersey City with her family at her side on February 9, 2021.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late James Magee. She was the much loved mother of: Mary Kelly (Bob) of Neptune Township, NJ, Catherine Wattley (late Mike Wattley) of Vernon, NJ, Liz Doren (Joe) of Jersey City, NJ, Peggy of Berkeley Heights, NJ, Grace Boyle of Brooklyn, NY, Judy Atchley (Garth) of Jersey City, NJ, and Ellen Ferry (late John Ferry) of Ocean, NJ. Mary adored her 14 grandchildren: Deirdre Axtmann, Tara Kelly, Sheila Kelly, Erin Wattley, Peter Wattley, Sean Wattley, Joseph Doren, Nicholas Doren, Meghan Boyle, Joe Boyle, Jack Boyle, Mary Atchley, Jude Atchley, John Ferry; and her great-granddaughter Annabelle D'Agostino.

Mary lived most of her life in Jersey City and was a member of St. Aloysius parish, graduating from St. Aloysius High School with honors. She went on to graduate from Fordham University, also with honors. She was a teacher at St. Aloysius Grammar School, Jersey City, and a long-time employee of Lightolier, Inc., Jersey City, retiring in 1991. She was a dedicated baseball fan, first of the Jersey City Giants, and after, of her beloved New York Mets. Mary will be greatly missed by her loving family.

Visitation will be held at Riotto Funeral Home (www.riottofh.com), 3205 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 691 West Side Avenue, Jersey City at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
