Mary Schulz Obituary

Mary Ann Schulz

Long Branch - Mary Ann Schulz, 70, was tragically killed on Sunday, December 31, 2017 while celebrating New Year's Eve with her life-long companion and soulmate, Adrian Kologi and his family. She adored Adrian's son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Linda Kologi of Long Branch, NJ, and loving granddaughter, Brittany, who also passed away in this senseless act of violence.

Mary Ann was born in Long Branch, NJ. A graduate of Red Bank Catholic and Manor Junior College, she retired as a human resource specialist with T&M Engineering in 2010. She enjoyed acting and attending theater art performances. Mary Ann was an actress with Murder on Cue - a murder mystery dinner theatre -- where she performed as her favorite character, Greta Schtunken, the stone-faced housekeeper. She also held the role as the head juror in the movie, Deathrow, filmed in Oceanport.

Not only was Mary Ann our family historian, she shared her expertise and passion for genealogy with anyone and everyone. She served on the Executive Board for the Monmouth County Genealogy Society, and was actively involved in the German Special Interest and Memoirs Groups, and Publicity Committee. Mary Ann co-founded the African-American Special Interest Group and worked tirelessly on the area's cemetery restoration projects.

She had a warm presence, generous spirit, and her smile lit up the room. Mary Ann is predeceased by her parents, Anna and Robert Schulz. In addition to her partner, she is survived by her loving eight siblings: Robert, Jr., Calgary, Canada; Riccardo, Pittsburgh, PA; Cathy & Ray Lefurge, Vernon, CT; Michael & Alexis Schulz, West Long Branch; Stephen Schulz, West Long Branch and his partner Christine D'Onofrio, Brick; Jane & Jim Wallace, San Francisco, CA; Susan & Ramon Morris, Long Branch; David & Heidi Schulz, Farmingdale; her aunt, Pietra Stella, Eatontown, and many cherished cousins, nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, January 5 from 4 pm to 7:30 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 6 at 11 am, St. Jerome R.C. Church, Wall Street, West Long Branch. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Wall Street, West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jerome School or the Monmouth County Genealogy Society. For condolences to the family, visit www.woolleyboglioli.com.

Deepest sympathy to Mary Ann's family and all who loved her. She was always such a joy to be around, whether in theatrical or Human Resources endeavors. Always! Her smile was warm and genuine for everyone who saw it.
And thank you to her family for such a beautiful, loving tribute with the the theme of forgiveness at the funeral. Your kind gestures were so greatly appreciated.
May we all know God's ABC's - His Angels, Blessings and Courage.
Peace and love,

Mary Ann was a joy to be with and especially act with. Years ago she lit up the stage in Calliope's production of Once upon a mattress where I had the privilege of playing her son. She also invited me into her world of being photographed with celebrities at the PNC ARTS CENTER. Her hearty laugh will always echo in my heart and the world is surely going to be a sadder place with her not here. My condolences to her family, and her many friends. My heart hurts today.

I had the pleasure of working on the board of JSAHR with Mary Ann years ago. We reconnected recently at a JSAHR reunion and I sat next to Mary Ann that night. I am happy I had the chance then to thank her for all of the HR guidance she gave me in my early days in the HR world. I respected and appreciated her. Sending prayers to Mary Ann's family during this tough time.
With deep sympathy,

It was a pleasure to know Mary Ann as an HR Professional with JSAHR and also as an actress with her Murder on Cue group. She did a mystery dinner theater event for the FBI and I saw another side of her. RIP dear Mary Ann. We shall miss you and your presence in our lives.
