Mary Vuono Obituary
AGE: 92 • Wanamassa
Mary V. Vuono, 92, of the Wanamassa section of Ocean Township, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Born in Yonkers, NY, Mary was a graduate of Gorton High School, Yonkers and served as a WAC in the AAF during WWII at Mitchell Field for the Provost Marshal office. After her service, she and Paul Vuono married and settled in Asbury Park. They were married for 52 years. They worked together at their business, Shore Appraisal Service, Asbury Park, from 1961 until her retirement in 1990. She was a communicant of Holy Spirit Church, Asbury Park.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Catherine Brembos; her husband, Paul P. Vuono Sr.; and a son, Michael; three brothers, Nicholas, Frank and Mgsr. George; and sister-in-law, Marie. She is survived by sons, Paul P. Jr., Wanamassa, Robert S. and his wife, Kandra, Wall Township, Keith Geoffrey and his wife, Mary, Shark River Hills, Richard K., Bradley Beach, John F. and his wife, Kathy, Neptune City, and Christopher D. and his wife, Siobhan, Shark River Hills; a sister, Margaret Johnson and her husband George of Lake George, NY; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 22 in Buckley Funeral Home, 509 Second Ave., Asbury Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 23 in Holy Spirit Church, 705 Second Ave., Asbury Park. Interment will follow in Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightsown.
