Matthew Bieda Obituary
AGE: 85 • Little Egg Harbor
Matthew P. Bieda, 85, of Little Egg Harbor, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Southern Ocean Medical Center. Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Elizabeth before moving to Little Egg Harbor in 1990. He worked as a welder for Koch Steel, Carteret. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, was a member of the Mystic Island post of the American Legion and the Little Egg Harbor post of the VFW.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary M. Swaen Bieda of Little Egg Harbor; his sons, Matthew Bieda and his wife Karen of Little Egg Harbor, Michael Bieda of Hazlet, and Robert Bieda and his wife Jo-Ann of Barnegat; his sister, Vicky Petras of Tampa, FL; his grandchildren, Michelle and her husband Tom, John, Jonathan, Jordan, Bryan, and Matthew and his wife Cathleen; and his great-granddaughter, Summer. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and his American Legion and VFW brothers.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Matthew's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org. It always seem too soon when we miss such a wonderful, love one.
