Neptune - Melida I. Diaz, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and cousin, of Neptune, passed away on January 10, 2021. Melida (Meli) was born December 30, 2005 to Jose Díaz Jr and Yadira Díaz with her twin brother Jose A. Díaz. She was baptized 7/15/07 in the Lutheran Church of Reformation in West Long Branch. She went to ECC, Green Grove Elementary School, Neptune Middle School, and Neptune High School with her brother. She was in ninth grade and she was a Poseidon Student. She excelled in school and always did her best at everything she did. She enjoyed attending community activities, volunteering, going to the beach, taking pictures of nature, drawing, singing, soccer, participating in plays, going to amusement parks, conventions, and movies. She was a sweet soul and a loyal friend.

She will be missed by her parents Yadira and Jose, sister Selena Díaz, twin brother Jose Díaz, grandparents Orlando and Yadira Gutierrez, Olga Díaz Torres, Maternal uncles Alvaro, Danilo, David Gutierrez, Paternal uncles Joey, Francisco, Jesus and aunt Olga Díaz and many cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 17 from 2:00pm-6:00pm and on Tuesday, January 19, from 12:00pm-12:45pm at Ely Funeral Home in Neptune. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday at 5:30pm at Ely Funeral Home. Burial and a graveside service will take place on Tuesday at 1:15pm at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
