Michael Condouris Obituary
He served in the US Coast Guard during World War II. He went to Monmouth Junior College and graduated from Rutgers College of Engineering in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He was an active member of the Shrewsbury Power Squadron where he served as Commander in 1992 and acted as an instructor for various levels of boating courses for many years. Michael was also a Senior Navigator and member of the Navigators Club. He was also a member of the Long Branch Ice Boat and Yacht Club.
He was predeceased by his wife, Theodora Condouris in 1994; his brother Theodore; sister Stamatiko; and parents Anthony and Helen. Surviving are his 4 children, Helene Condouris and companion Matt; Stephanie Kuhrt and husband Brian; Stacia Strollo and husband Leon; Anthony Condouris and wife Anita. He has 6 grandchildren, Athena, Neil, Sophia, Nina, Olivia, and Michael. Also surviving are his 2 brothers, Dr. George Condouris and Robert Condouris and wife Olga.
Michael was a beloved father and genuine, caring soul who loved sailing, being outdoors, and most of all sharing time with family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20 from 4-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.) in Long Branch. Funeral Wednesday, 11 am service at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean Township. Interment will be at St. George Greek Orthodox Cemetery in Neptune. A memorial donation may be made to St George Greek Orthodox Church, 1033 West Park Avenue, Ocean, NJ 07712 or a the American Heart Association, P.O. 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
