Mildred Colyard

AGE: 93 • Brick

Mildred Colyard, age 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at Burnt Tavern Rehab in Brick, NJ. Born and raised in Newark, NJ. Mrs. Colyard lived in West Belmar for 30 years, retired to New Port Richey and Indian Rocks Beach, FL, then returned to NJ, moving to Lakewood in 1983. She spent her last 3 years in Brick. She worked as a clerk in the Hall of Records in Freehold, NJ for many years retiring in 1974. She was a member of the Monmouth County Republicans Club, and the Original Leisure Village Art League, and Writer's Club. She was also a member of both the Monmouth and Ocean County Historical Societies, and wrote a column for The Herald in Manasquan, called "Do You Remember?".

Pre-deceased by her loving husband, Thomas of 41 years in 1979, she is survived by her two sons, Thomas Monroe and his wife Ingrid of Port St. Lucie, FL, Robert and his wife Janet of Brick, NJ; a daughter, Gail Hauselt and her husband Jerry of Smithville, NJ;11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

Visiting will be held on Tuesday, September 27th from 2 to 3 pm at the D'Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave; Lakewood, NJ 08701. A Memorial service will follow at 3 pm, at the Funeral Home. For further information or to post a tribute please visit www.deliafuneralhome.com.
