Norman S. Scheckner

AGE: 78 • Monroe

Norman S. Scheckner, 78, passed away Friday evening, Jan. 25, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was born in Newark, was raised in South Plainfield before moving to Edison for many years. Norman has lived in Monroe for the last three years. Norman served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957. He was a self-employed Television Repairman for many years retiring in 2009. Norman enjoyed flying model airplanes and was an avid chess player. He was a former member of Temple Emmanuel in Edison.

He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Minnie Scheckner, his brother Larry Scheckner and is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Joyce (Olshan) Scheckner, his devoted sons, Craig and his wife Debbie, Brian and his wife Heather, his cherished grandsons Andrew, Kyle, Jason and Connor and his dear sister Millicent (Milli) and her husband Dr. Marvin Shapiro. Graveside service will be held at Beth Israel Cemetery, 1 Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, NJ at 10:30am today (Sunday, Jan. 27th). Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Norman to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are entrusted to the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ.
