AGE: 63 • Colonia
Pamela Ann Lucy Mercatili passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, surrounded by her loving husband Peter and her devoted daughters Anna and Gina. She was born December 13, 1952 in Perth Amboy and resided in Woodbridge before moving to Colonia in 1991.
Pam's passion and focus was being a dedicated and involved wife and mother. She spent many tireless hours working for Saint John Vianney Parish and School as President of the Altar Rosary Society, Eucharistic Minister and Past President of the Home School Association. She was Past President of the Mount Saint Mary Academy Mercy Guild, where both her daughters attended high school, and an active member of the Terranova Garden Club in Edison. She was a past member of the 9 Hole Lady Golfers at Metuchen Country Club.
Pamela was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Gloria Adamiec, and her elder brother Thomas Adamiec. Surviving are her husband of 30 years Peter Mercatili and her two daughters Anna and Gina Mercatili. The impact of Pamela's faith, love, and grace far exceeds her time in this life and will continue to inspire and impact the lives of those she touched as she enters eternal rest.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gosselin Funeral Home located 660 New Dover Road, Edison. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 9th, from 9:00 AM at the Funeral Home, followed by a 10:00 AM mass at Saint John Vianney Church located 420 Inman Avenue, Colonia. Entombment will take place at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
Donations may be made to the Saint John Vianney Altar Rosary Society, as they carry on the tradition of Rosary Devotion in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Dear Mercatili Family,I would like to express my sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved wife and mother. Pam was such a beautiful person, inside and out. I knew her from SJV and whenever/wherever we would see eachother, she would say "Hey, Susie!", with a big smile on her face, and we'd give each other a big hug. Somewhere in the conversation, she would always mention Peter, Anna, Gina - you were her whole world. She was such a giving person and will be truly missed. To the Mercatili Family, I was just told today of the passing of Pam. My heart truly aches for your loss and for all who new her. She was such a wonderful lady. I worked many years with Pam on the HSA committee at SJV. Pam was always so kind and caring to me and my family. When I would see her she would always give me the biggest hug. I will miss her terribly. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Words cannot describe express the sorry for the loss of Pam. Her devotion was present in everything she did. Her love for her family was endless. She always had a smile on those long HSA fundraisers. She will be deeply missed. I am truly honored to be her friend.

Mercatili Family,
Pam will be sorely missed. We loved her and know for sure that she is in Heaven planting flowers for the Lord. A lovely book on Gardening will be donated to the North Edison Library in her memory as is our tradition of the Terra Nova Garden Club. Our sincere condolences and prayers for all of you....
