Patsy Fermo Obituary

Patsy Fermo

Toms River

Patsy Fermo, of Toms River, formerly of Jersey City, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away at home on Saturday, Aug., 16, 2014, after a brief battle with cancer. He was an avid card player, patient checker player and enjoyed puzzles of all kinds.

Patsy had a quick mind and generous heart. He was a champion golden gloves boxer in his youth and a champion in our hearts. He loved to fish, enjoyed crabbing and being near the water, but most of all he loved his family.

Patsy was predeceased by his loving wife, Evie; his parents, Louise and Salvatore Fermo and his brother, John. He is survived by his son, Patrick and daughter-in- law, Mary Lou; grandchildren, Kate, Patrick, Maggy and great-grandson, Carter; his daughter, Linda Fermo-Garcia and son-in-law, Jose Garcia; grandchildren, Brandon and Jason; his brother and best friend, Angelo Fermo; his sister, Ella Vasalli; his neighbors and good friends, Teddy and Anita Vassallo and a number of nieces and nephews all of whom will miss him dearly. He is once again reunited with his beloved wife of 50 years, Evelyn Kelley Fermo.

The visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 at "The Family-Owned" Carmona Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family suggests that those who wish may perform an act of kindness or generosity in remembrance of his generous spirit.

Pat & Linda:
I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. He and your Mom were great. They always made everyone feel welcomed in their home and there were plenty of great times there. It was my pleasure to know them. I am sure they are happy to be reunited. May God bless them both. They were two of the kindest people ever and I will think of them fondly and smile. My deepest sympathy to you both. Remember the laughter and the great family parties. Rest in peace.

Linda and Pat,
Sorry to hear about your dad he was a great guy. I remember how he treated all like family and I could feel the love in your home whenever I visited. Saw him in some stores years ago and then he and Pat at a service. Was great to see him again. You were truely blessed with great parents and I am proud to have known both of them. May all your memories give you a reason to smile during this time of your lives. Archie
