It's been 13 years since you left us,Dad, and not a day goes by without a thought of you. I miss your humor- the way you could make us laugh even in the hardest moments. You were also a firm disciplinarian - I wasn't easy to manage!
You were a proud WW11 Glider infantryman, a Bronze Star recipient who never spoke loudly of his bravery, but lived with quiet strength.
A devoted husband, father of seven, and a man of endless resourcefulness- you could fix about anything! As a Stationary Engineer, you supported our family.
We miss you deeply, but carry your legacy and embrace the memories.
With love always, Your family.

I will always remember the happy days we spent at the house on Manee Ave. Sneaking into the pool when Mr Appelt was not home and eating bologna sandwiches on the back porch. I felt like one of the family from early kindergarten days and as we grew into young men, Mr and Mrs Appelt made me feel welcome. Saying Mr Appelt will be missed is an understatement. My heartfelt condolences to my old friend Paul and all the Appelt Family.

Today my heart broke twice. Saddened that my childhood best friend passed and her dad, too. My wish is that the Appelt family smiles and finds happiness with all the good memories they've shared.

I will always remember Uncle Sonny for his big smile and great laugh. Now that he has joined the rest of the gang (Marion & Ray and Babe) the card game can begin. My thoughts are with the Appelt's during this sad time.

Paul was a wonderful man and always had such facinating stories. We enjoyed talking with him and having him with us for special events. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of his family but especially Paul and Janet.

Dad led his life through example. No bragging, no trumped up stories of past exploits. He just did what he had to do to make sure we were taken care of. He was strict when he had to be, but always fair. He taught us responsibility. As Dave said he was the smartest guy in the world. We will miss him,but will celebrate his life forever!

July 4th, 2012,

How do we begin to express our thoughts and feelings of some-one we loved so very much. Our comfort is he is now with his beloved wife and youngest daughter.
They are beyond the reach of our arms but not from our minds and hearts.
Dad and Chief we will miss you.

Love, June and Ricardo

Uncle Sonny, as we Hoerle's knew him was the husband of my father's sister, Edith known to us as Aunt Babe. They were both special and, are missed by us remaining five (5) Hoerle children. Un. Sonny was my God-Father for almost 67 yrs. he was always my special Uncle.
Now that you are safely home with Aunt Babe and Jill you can finally rest. We will miss you here on earth but, know you are now at peace.
