Perhaps a story will help just a little with your grief. My family moved in next door to Peter about 8 years ago. My young daughter often rode her bicycle around the block on the sidewalk. One of the sections of the sidewalk behind Peter’s house had buckled and cracked making it difficult for her to pass. Peter must have noticed this and within days he had a crew of masons replacing the entire section of the sidewalk! Thank you Peter. We will miss you.

When our daughter worked at Main Pharmacy, was the first time we met Peter. From that time until his passing, we found him to be a genuine caring person. He did not just ask how our family were doing but really was interested. Not often and very rarely do you have the opportunity in life to meet someone like him. Peter will be missed.
Our sincere sympathy to the Gibbs family and his granddaughter, who was already a light of love in his heart.

Pete was such a wonderful person. My parents and I were so upset to hear about his passing. I have great memories of working with him at Main Pharmacy and how much he made us laugh. He always greeted my Mom and Dad warmly when they would see him at Church and my Mom would always tell me that Pete asked how I was.On my wedding day, he came by Saint Denis Church to see me and I will always remember that. My sincere condolences to the Gibbs Family.

Peter was always available with a friendly smile and helpful manner. I would often see him at the food store and we always had a wonderful chat. He will be missed, those who are the makeup of our community are often the silent ones just doing the right thing. We will miss him.

John and I often said we could not have asked for a better neighbor than Pete. Always friendly, always kind and helpful. I know he will always be one of the nicest people I'll ever meet. I'll never forget him re-cementing his sidewalk years ago because he said, "it broke his heart to hear Devon (my daughter then 2 years old) get stuck on all the cracks". We will miss his sweet nature.

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.RIP Pete you will be truely missed by ALL

Dear Gibbs family,
I sit here truely saddened and numb as I write this. Although I never met you, I feel as though I know you all. I worked with Pete for a number of years at EDC. He was truely a special person. He always had kind words for all and was always excited to talk about his family. Pete made you feel like you were best friends from the moment he met you. I can go on and on! May you all be comforted by everyones kind words and thoughts. God bless.

Pete was always the example of kindness and thoughtfulness. Working with him at Main Pharmacy in our teens, he never treated me or my brothers and sisters like kids. Running into him later, he always asked after the family. He was a caring man, a special person, and he will be missed.

Mr. Gibbs - You were such a thoughtful and empathetic person...and you will be missed by many. You made a point to develop relationships with your children's friends that made us look up to you as a second father. I know that you are looking down upon us and will guard us with all of the love that you have always held in your heart. May you rest in the PEACE that you have always left with others.

Was there anyone more willing and ready to lend a hand than Peter? Peter was all about giving. Every day I walk my dog Sophie (aka Peter's "girlfriend") past his house, I will pause and think on his beautiful spirit. My heart goes out to his family. I know that Peter will continue to watch out for all of us from on high. Peter, beloved neighbor and friend, may you rest in the light.
