Peter Koch

Highlands - Peter Neilson Koch, of Highlands, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the age of 63.

He was predeceased by his father, Arthur Koch. He is survived by his wife, Lisa of nearly nineteen years, Highlands; his mother, Patricia Koch of Easton, MD; and his siblings and their spouses, Christopher and Peggy Koch of Dingman's Ferry PA, Sally and George Mavroides of South Yarmouth, MA, Amy and Hugh Leman of Hertford, NC, and his twin brother, Steven and Yanie Koch of Chestertown, MD. His nephews and nieces were also very close and grew up with him, including Jeffrey and Casey Koch; Chelsea Shatt; Jessica, Nicholas and Kelly Mavroides; Connor and Kyle Leman; Mo Zhai; Andrew, Christopher, and Evan Linton; Lauren, Danielle and Joseph Barbutti; and Taylor and Kayla Bogan. Last but not least, he had two very special grandnieces, Rosslyn and Lucinda Koch. And he has numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, brother and sister in laws, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Peter grew up in Sparta and was able to achieve a Master's Degree from Rutgers University. Peter worked for a while at ARC of Monmouth, where he assisted people with disabilities to live normal and productive lives. Peter was an avid sailor and loved the water. He got great joy teaching people how to sail.

Once COVID restrictions are lifted, a celebration of his life will be scheduled.
