Peter Vaccarella

Peter Vaccarella, 80, of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of Matawan, NJ, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Abington Lansdale Hospital. Born in Matawan, NJ, raised in San Salvatore, Italy (from infancy to 18), he spent most of his life back in Matawan, NJ where he married and raised his family before retiring over 20 years ago to Punta Gorda, FL. Most recently he lived with his wife at his daughter's home in Lansdale, PA.
Peter was predeceased by his father, Pellegrino Vaccarella; mother, Theresa Tomasso Vaccarella, and sister, Mary Vaccarella. He is survived by his lifetime sweetheart from Passaic, NJ, Patricia (Pizzi) Vaccarella, a retired school teacher and Peter's business partner. Pat and Pete were married on October 10, 1964 and have 2 children. His son, Dr. Paul Vaccarella, of Long Valley, New Jersey, with wife Dale and two children Krista (16) and Holly (12), and his daughter, Terri Sarisky, of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, with husband Rob and two children Juliana (10) and Matthew (6).
Peter was a self employed proprietor of Paul-Terri Sportswear, Inc. in Long Branch, NJ, specializing in the manufacture of fine ladies clothing. Throughout his life, he was a devoted volunteer of the St. Anthony Society and member of the Matawan Italian-American Club, an avid gardener and wine maker.
Relatives and friends are invited on Sunday from 2-5PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ. Funeral services will be Monday 9:30am at Day Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, at St. Joseph's RCC, Keyport, NJ.
