Ray was one of my Dad's last cousins. They admired each other for
their old time inventiveness with mechanics and a shared history. I
enjoyed their stories of each other, now memories for me. My deepest
sympathies to Ray's family members. He will be greatly missed.

Sincerely,
Preston G. Wood Jr. (Woody)

Ray was the epitome of craftsman. We spent a lot of time talking about the trades, work and shop technique, and hobbies.

Any time I was working on a project, Ray had great interest in the process and had offered a lot of insight. I was almost always all ears, not only because I was trumped by someone with the "gift of gab" but more importantly, Ray had dedicated his time to learning the most efficient way to build/modify/repair ANYTHING.

He had built his own steam engine modeled boat, worked as a luthier (guitar repair/construction) lead body work on automobiles, and just had an exceptional understanding of mechanical works. You name it, he could fix it.

As a mechanic/craftsmen myself, I always enjoyed his company and sharing of valuable information from his own trial and error.

The week before he passed, he sang a song and played guitar for me and my two daughters; and it was a fond memory I will always cherish.

Rest in Peace, dear friend. You were a major role model for fitness and mechanics. Working around the house won't be the same without seeing/hearing your cars barreling around the corner.

My condolences and prayers for Kaye, their children and all of their extended family.

Ray Cass. A lot of knowledge and memories shared in here.
