Dick you will be missed. You were always such gentleman, always fun to be with, I loved having you and Midge for Christmas Eve and family parties. I cant believe its been 7 years since Midge first brought you to our first party, you so enjoyed the Sea food almost as much as I enjoyed the beautiful napkins you brought me.
Rest in peace Dick, at least you no longer suffering. It was a difficult year for you and Midge, thank God you had each other.

To the Work family, my deepest sympathy for your loss. I lived in Lakewood for 30 years before getting married and settling down in Manchester. When I was 6 years old, I remember going to see the Lakewood Little League team managed by Dick win the World Series in Williamsport, Pa.. He was a great man and I would see him at Wall Stadium Speedway and at Manchester football games. We would always talk about sports and life in general. He will truly be missed.

Dear Midge, the Work family, and friends,
My deepest sympathy and prayers are for you all. Dick was a dear friend when we lived in NJ. We played golf and poker together on a weekly basis for many years. He was always smiling, always helpful and considerate, always reaching out to others.
His community will miss him dearly, as he enters a new community where he can continue to bring happiness.

I met Dick several years ago through Midge Cannin-Shuck over dinner. I was impressed with how committed and devoted they were to each other. I knew almost immediately that they shared something very special. I was equally impressed with how Midge maintained her focus after she learned of Dick's diagnosis and provided him with constant care. She was with him every step of the way! And even after giving 110% of her energy, she would still question whether or not she could do more. This was a testament of her love and commitment to Dick.
I know that if he were standing here now, he would look at her with his beautiful blue eyes and broad smile and tell her how happy he was to have had her in his life. My condolences to Midge and her family and to Dick's family. May everyone find peace and contentment in their hearts and may Dick rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to Dick's family. As a former sports editor of The Ocean County Daily Times from 1973 to 1977, and as a Lakewood resident from 1983 to 2003, I knew Dick well from his work with the Blackhawks, and especially as one of the coaches for the Lakewood Little League national championship team. He was dedicated to serving the people and children of Lakewood and will be greatly missed.

The picture speaks for itself. We loved each other when we met 7 and 1/2 years ago. You and I felt your pain together. My blessing was being with you and taking care in my home especially the last year of your life. The last week was the only time away from me for pain control at the hospital; you are in God and Padre Pio's hands, they will take up where I left off.
Love Midge
