Robert Monte Obituary
AGE: 55 • Seaside Heights
Robert E. Monte III, 55, died Monday, May 9, 2011. Born in Teaneck, Robert lived in Keyport and Seaside Heights. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Robert is predeceased by his parents, Robert E. Monte Jr. and Ann (nee Gibson); and brother, James Monte. He is survived by his son, Robert E. Monte IV and his wife Sarah of Scottown, Ohio. He is also survived by his sister, Joanne Steager and her husband Carlton Steager and family from Keyport; his soul-mate, Nancy R. Bernath and her children, Stephen, Mark and Ashley-Rose; and a grandson, Zachary Singer. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. Robert enjoyed fishing, the beach, photography and music.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 13 at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 706 Grand Central Ave., Lavallette. The funeral service will take place 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14 at the funeral home. Committal will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. I didnt know Robert very well. I met him through my friend Nancy Bernath and saw him at a number of concerts over the past few years. He was interested in the same music that I was and seemed like a great guy.
My deepest sympathies are with his family and friends at this time.
