ROBERT OLDEHOFF
AGE: 80 WHITING
Robert Oldehoff, 80, of Whiting, Manchester, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. A Navy veteran, he worked for the Springfield and Edison Township School Districts as a math teacher. Mr. "O", as all his students called him, also wrote and published some math books showcasing his different approach to teaching. He was a volunteer for many different organizations and was well loved by everyone he came in contact with.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth; a sister, Mary; and a son, Steven. "Pops" as he was affectionately known is survived by his loving wife, Mary of Whiting; her children, Kim, Kelly, Chrissie and their families; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Dawn of Bayville; two grandchildren, Robbie and Brittany; and two nieces, Diane and Lynnie.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 10 at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. Cremation will be private. Burial of cremated remains and service will be at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, at a date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Robert's name to the VanDyke Hospice Care Center at Community Medical Center, Toms River.
