Robin Karas Obituary
AGE: 67 • Neptune
Robin Karas (nee Borsky), 67, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Jersey City, she received a master's degree from Jersey City State College and spent 43 years as a high school science teacher in the Jersey City public school system. She was also the coordinator of the Ferris High School science department and a union representative for the JCEA and NJEA, before retiring in 2011.
Robin is survived by her husband of 29 years, Stanley; her daughter, Kristen; her sister, Gail Levine and her husband Stewart of West Orange; her nephew, Scott Levine, his wife Laurie, and their children Lacey and Jacob of Park Ridge, IL; and her nephew, Matthew Levine, his wife Ilana and their son Max of West Caldwell.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17 at the Johnson-McGinley Funeral Home, Wall. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17 and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18 at their home in Neptune. Robin's sister will also sit shiva from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19 and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 and Friday, Nov. 21 at her home in West Orange. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Support Community, P.O. Box 376, Monmouth Beach, NJ 07750.

I will always remember our daily chats on how to improve both Ferris and the Mets. She was a hell of a teacher and a good person. Hard to believe she is gone. Rest in peace Robin. Harry Lerner
