Salvatore Caramucci Obituary

Salvatore Anthony Caramucci

Salvatore Anthony Caramucci, was called to the Lord on Sunday, January 3rd, 2021. He was born in Hoboken, New Jersey, and had lived in Virginia since 1994.

Through most of his adult life, he was a soldier, reaching the rank of Master Sergeant in the United States Army and serving over 30 years around the world. He earned medals such as the Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Award), Army Commendation Medal (2nd Award), Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award) and Drill Sergeant Identification Badge. Though being a soldier was what defined Sal and filled him with pride, his most important roles were husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include children; Thomas (Tricia), Sally (Jason Norado), Louis (Melissa), Anthony (Mary), Nancy (Peter D'Alema); grandchildren Jonathon, Gabriella, Salvatore, Francesca, Alexandria, Nicholas, Natalie, Salvatore, Grazia, Anthony, Mary, Cecilia, Maria, Peter, Henry, Emily, and Simon. Sal was preceded in death by his devoted wife Nancy of 54 years, just twelve days previous.

Sal will always be remembered for his humor, positive outlook on life and cheery smile. He was the ultimate caregiver, always happily willing to rock his newest grandchild to sleep, or help a neighbor in need. He lovingly cared for Nancy through her illness; a task he accomplished with pride and honor. Sal was happiest when his home was filled with family, friends and laughter, as he and Nancy hosted delicious Italian dinners and afternoon barbecues over the years. We love you Mom and Dad, Sempre Insieme.

A joint funeral mass for Sal and Nancy will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Ashland VA on January 26th at 11:00. Contact St. Ann's for sign up information. Inurnment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date in 2021.

My deepest condolences to the Caramucci family over the recent lost of your wonderful father and mother.
Sal was a great person, always laughing, always worrying how my eyes were after surgeries and asking about others in my family. We had many breakfasts and lunches at Cracker Barrel and going into one will be forever changed. I will keep them alive each time I'm there and thinking of them.
I wish they both were here on earth but I'm glad that where they are now, they are together.. as they should be. We now have 2 extra angels watching over all of us.
