AGE: 41 • Union Beach
Sara Mikson, 41, of Union Beach passed away Monday, May 30th, after a courageous battle with Leukemia at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center. Sara was born in Menlo Park, the daughter of the late Raymond "Leigh" and Margaret "Peg" Chahbandour and lived the first half of her life in Holmdel where she graduated Holmdel High School. After marrying Scott Mikson, they moved to Union Beach nearly 20 years ago. Sara worked in the cafeteria at the Morningside Elementary School in Union Beach for the past few years. Sara was very artistic and enjoyed crafting and sewing things for her family and her home. Christmastime was Sara's favorite time of year, she made beautiful beaded stockings for family, teachers and friends and took pride in decorating her home. Sara will be mostly missed for her kind words, her generosity and selflessness.
Sara is survived by her husband Scott Mikson and their children Gabrielle and Scott Jr. She also leaves behind her brother, Michael Chahbandour of Ewing and many other family members and friends who will greatly miss her.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects Friday from 2-4 & 7-8:30 pm. The funeral service will immediately follow at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals, 153 Church St., Belford. A private cremation will then take place. For directions and condolences, please visit www.scottkedzfuneralhome.com

I am so sorry for your loss. I have such great memoriees of walking to school with Sara, playing at her house and swimming in the pool, riding bikes...I remember her and michael always dressing up for Halloween and us all going trick ot treating in the neighborohood. I was so happy when I knew it was Sara who was going to buy my parents house in Holmdel. It just felt right, she had definately spent many days there before. i cant tell you how much I will miss her.
