AGE: 49 • Neptune City
Scott A. Mansfield, 49, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011. Born in Neptune, Scott was a lifelong resident of Neptune City and a graduate of Neptune High School. He was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local 9 for almost 30 years. He was involved with the Ocean Township United Soccer Association.
Scott was predeceased by his father, George; and his brother, George. Surviving are his mother, Peggy Mansfield, Neptune City; his daughters, Alison and Emily, Ocean Township; his sisters and brother, Gail Freeman and her husband Bill, Neptune City, Linda Mansfield, Wall, Danny Mansfield and his wife, Debbie, Oakhurst, Elizabeth Nickl and her husband, Ed, Spring Lake Heights, and Judith Pantealeo, Neptune City; his former wife, Carole Mansfield, Ocean Township; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 until the funeral service at 7 p.m. in Buckley Funeral Home, 509 Second Ave., Asbury Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meridian Affiliated Foundations, Hospice Care, 1345 Campus Parkway, Suite A-2, Neptune, NJ 07753.

Dear Alison and Emily,
We are so sad to hear of your dad's passing. He was such a special man who loved you so much. We will always cherish our memories we shared on and off the soccer field. Even though his time on Earth was shorter than we would have liked, he truly touched so many people in a positive way and lived life to the fullest. He is so proud of you and he will always be your guardian angel. Keep the faith, girls.

Mansfield Family -
From the Hurley family to all of you, we are deeply saddened and very hurt for your loss.
We all loved Scott. Everyone did - how could one not love Scotty?!?
What a dynamic and magnetic personality. One of the best people to be around in all of my years of roaming this Earth. Personally, I loved the dude - and will miss him terribly!
Too many memories to mention here. But chillin' at his crib, playing all sports in NC, especially soccer, playing cards in the basement with many others, chasing NC girls all over the neighborhood, street hockey, Neptune High, celebrating our State Championship, parties, coaching soccer in Ocean Township for his daughters whom he loved so, and on and on the stories go.
What a special person.
What a personality.
So much fun to be around.
You will be sorely missed Scott. From your daughters and brothers and sisters and Mom - to your best friend growing up - Rich A - from your Union Hall brothers, to all of us from your hometown of NC - and all of us soccer brothers, and all of your beach buddies -- the list just goes on and on. You were special to so many of us. We are all heart-broken.
Many tears shed over the past week brother Scott.
Rest easy my man. It was not easy to kneel before you tonight.
We will all do our best to look after your daughters.
We all know how much you loved them.
Heaven just got a whole lot funnier...
Heaven will also be more unified as Scott meets up with the faithfully departed and brings them all together for story-telling and laughter.
I will miss you terribly my childhood friend.
Another piece of my heart has broken.
I look forward to seeing you on the other side.

Scott will be missed. I especially remember the Garage days. He was a lot of fun and amusing during his short life. Angels are always near to those who are grieving.
