Stanley Cote Obituary
AGE: 87 • New Brunswick
The Reverend Stanley Grover Cote, 87, of New Brunswick, NJ, died Tuesday at the Francis E. Parker Memorial Home, Piscataway, NJ. Born in Corinth, NY; Reverend Cote grew up in Greenfield Center, NY. He graduated from Green Mountain Jr. College in Vermont and Asbury College in Kentucky. He received his Masters Degree and took further graduate courses from the Boston University School of Theology. Reverend Cote was an ordained Methodist Minister who had served churches in Vermont, New York and Massachusetts before relocating to Ohio where he served the United Methodist Churches in Akron, Macedonia, Chagrin Falls and Oberlin. He retired back to Greenfield Center, NY in 1987.
Son of the late Windsor and Bertha (Ochs) Cote, he was also predeceased by his late brother, Lloyd F. Cote. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Beatrice Dail Cote; Daughters: Lyn Cote Grund and her husband, John of New Brunswick; Stephanie Cote Shook and her husband, John of Grosse Pointe MI; his brother, Windsor G. Cote, his cherished grandchildren: Chris H. Backas, Bryan H. Backas, Sean S. McLeod, Jenna K. Fabian, Molly E. McLeod and great grandchildren Ava and Tenley Fabian.
A Memorial Service for Reverend Cote is being planned and will be announced in the near future. Arrangements are under the direction of the Gowen Funeral Home 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick Cremation was private. Memorial contributions , in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Francis E. Parker Memorial Home,. 1421 River Road, Piscataway,NJ or to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville,NJ 07834.

Dear Bebe, Lyn and Stephanie,
I was so sorry to read of Stanley's death. Mother (Midi), Steve and I will always remember the kindness of your whole family when Dad died...spending the night at your home, eating my first pizza on your porch, and always feeling a part of your family...great memories.You are all in my prayers. Uncle Stanley was a very special man. we have very fond memories of him, especially when he married us almost 36 years ago. He always had a big hug and a warm welcome.
