(Asbury Park Press)

THOMAS J. GIARDINO "TOMMY"
AGE: 54 COLTS NECK
Thomas J. Giardino, "Tommy", 54, of Colts Neck, passed away Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at Cooper University Medical Center, Camden. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., he has been a resident of Colts Neck for the past 13 years. He graduated from St. Francis College, Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1978 and is the owner of Mr. Bargain II auto parts store of Staten Island, N.Y. Tom was a very compassionate and giving husband, father and friend. To say Tommy was the nicest guy you'll ever meet is an understatement. He knew when to crack a witty joke and always had a head on his shoulders. Tom was born to be an entrepreneur; he started and maintained his own business for over 25 years. Not only did he take pride in his work, but Tom took tremendous pride in his family. His wife and children were the most important thing to him in the world and he made sure that they knew it. Tom leaves behind a large circle of friends and a legacy no one will be able to forget.
He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Mary Giardino. Surviving is his wife, Karen A. Giardino (nee Zack); two sons, Gregory T. and Jameson D. Giardino; a daughter, Sharon R. Giardino, all of Colts Neck. He is also survived by a brother, Joseph G. Giardino of Sanford, Fla.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14 from the Bongarzone Funeral Home, 2400 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls. A funeral mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15 at Holy Innocents Church, Neptune. The family is requesting for everyone to go directly to church on Friday. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to DRAW (Drag Racing Assn. of Women), 4 Hance Drive, Charleston, IL 61920.
