Sea Girt - Thomas Warnke, 75, of Sea Girt, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at his home.

Mr. Warnke was raised in Sea Girt, where he served as a lifeguard. He would later live in New Providence for many years, where he and his late wife raised their children. During that period they maintained a summer residence in Sea Girt, before returning as full-time residents in 1998. He was a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy, Colgate University, and Seton Hall Law School, where he received his law degree. He went on to a distinguished career in law, both in his private practice, and as an Executive Vice-President at Crum & Foster Insurance. He was a member of the American Bar Association. He was also a member of the Faith Lutheran Church Chorus, a trumpet player with the Ocean Grove Band, and a Charter Member of The Hamburger Club. But above all else, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and philosopher.

Mr. Warnke was predeceased by his beloved wife, Bernadette Catherine Warnke, in 2006. He is survived by his sons, Matthew Warnke, of New York, Thomas Warnke, of Longmont, CO, and Patrick Warnke, of Arlington, VA, and his grandchildren, Dovlyn and Phoebe Warnke, both of Longmont, CO. Also surviving are his sisters, Margaret Warnke, of Philadelphia, Jane Grabel, of Albuquerque, NM, Liz Stiles, of Amelia Island, FL, and Gretchen Gravenese, of Mullica Hill, NJ.

In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Warnke was cremated. A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 6 Osborn Avenue, Manasquan, on January 26, 2019 at 11am.
