Dear Wieboldt Family,

I had the honor of knowing "Boldt" and the privilege of playing soccer with and against him. He was a tough customer on the field and I have to say I enjoyed playing with him more. I am shocked to just hear this news and I am very saddened by it. The Wieboldt family is a great family and soccer family and I hope you are all doing okay at this time. Know that you all and Tommy are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless.

I just found out about Toms passing and I am extremely upset and shocked about the news. Tom played soccer with me and against me over the years and he was an unbelievable competitor and a great friend. I feel so terribly sorry for his family and will keep them in my prayers.

God bless Tom an awesome Guy!!!

I arrived in NJ in 1977 via a soccer trade and anyone around here back then knew the Wieboldt name. The family was a major presence in the shore and state soccer circles. I remember the 1st time I saw Tom play, and my first thought was man, who is that guy! He had every quality of a winner. He was a physical player and yet at the most hectic moments in a match he had the technical ability to slow the game down in his mind and then score goals- and a lot of them. What a player and then when I got the chance to meet him- what a super guy! I got to meet the entire family, and Mr. Wieboldt, you were-are an amazing supportive parent. All the Wieboldt guys were just so special to see and Greg really kept me updated over the years with his visits to me at NJ Gravel&Sand. Because of a temporary medical issue I am not able to attend the service today. I really just want the family to know how very sorry I am about Tom. He lived his life to the fullest and I just wish I had the opportunity to play with him. I have the utmost respect for Tom, and I will never forget him. God Bless you all as no words can express the sadness I feel for you.

Tom and I worked together at UPS for years. He became my friend because he played soccer with Ralph (my first husband) and Bob White (another UPSer) on Sunday mornings (Sunday's right?) (It was a LONG TIME ago LOL).
I lost touch with Tom once he left UPS but I never forgot you. Every year on August 23rd I would reach out and wish him a Happy Birthday. He didn't always respond but that didn't matter...he was in my thoughts. You still are my friend. Rest in peace. Love and forgiveness...it heals all.

I covered Tommy's Seaside route many years ago when Tommy was out with a back injury. Nearly every one of his customers were concerned about him. They were all so happy when he returned because he had a great relationship with his customers. My prayer go out to his family. Rest in peace buddy...... Tom Fortier
