VIOLA HANSON
AGE: 97
ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS
Viola Hanson, 97, passed away on December 23, 2010, at the Atrium at Navesink Harbor in Red Bank. Born in Belleview, Kentucky, she resided in Atlantic Highlands for most of her life. She taught physical education at Edgewood Park Junior College in Briar Cliff, New York. An accomplished artist, Viola also enjoyed gardening, birding, skiing, and dancing. She was a member of the United Methodist church of Red Bank for 60 years.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Philip Hanson, her father, Guy R. Humphrey and mother, Anna Langer Humphrey, and a brother, Arthur Humphrey. Surviving are a nephew Ronald Hanson of Brewer, Maine, and a niece Arlene Cleven of Florida.
All arrangements will remain private under the care of the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to the Scholarship Fund at the Red Bank Methodist Church, 247 Broad Street, Red Bank, NJ 07701.
