Virginia P. Sanquini
Virginia P. Sanquini 89, passed away peacefully at home on June 21st, 2021, in the presence of loved ones. Virginia, also known as Ginger Preziosa was born and grew up on Staten Island. Born to Maria and Domenic Preziosa, she was the youngest of nine children. After she graduated from Curtis High School she was married To Richard Sanquini and moved to Milwaukee, WI until 1959. After brief residence back in Staten Island, she then settled in Branchburg, NJ in 1961 where she resided for almost 40 years raising her family. As a resident of Branchburg, she was an active member of the community where she was a member of the PTO, Branchburg Women's Club, where she became the Vice President of the American Division's 4th District and was a member of the board of elections for over 10 years. She was also a Notary and Avon Cosmetics Representative for 15 years. In 1997 she moved to her final residence in Manasquan, NJ and lived there until her final day. Virginia was a communicant of St Denis Church, Manasquan. Virginia was active in basketball, softball, bowling, and tennis in her youth and adult years. She also was a certified basketball referee, a member of the Branchburg Woman's Club for 50 years and the only member of the club to be a life member. Most notably, Virginia loved to cook as a gourmet (self-taught), exploring all ethnic cuisines, and bake for family and friends and has collected many holiday recipes throughout her life that she later passed down to her children and grandchildren. Virginia enjoyed time with her friends & family over the years travelling, going to lunches, playing dominoes, and cards.
She is welcomed into Heaven by her parents, all 8 siblings (Celia, Jeanne, Joan, Tootsie, Florence, Nicky, Joey, Frankie), and grandson Matthew Sanquini who preceded her death. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Richard Sanquini and wife Gladys of Brielle, Peter Sanquini and wife Marilyn of Branchburg, Jeannine Mazur and husband Stanley of Brielle, and Louis Sanquini and wife Donna of New York City, six grandchildren: David Sumba and wife Heather, William Sumba and wife Kelly, Erin Ashton and husband Seth, Lisa, Sofia and Lucy, four step-grandchildren, Justin Mazur, Todd Mazur and his wife Cherise, Chris Montalvo and his wife Michelle, and Alexandra, and 7 great-grandchildren Blake, Cole, Chiara, and Emilia, Rachel, Nicholas & Julian and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday June 24, 2021, from 4-9 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am at St. Denis Church, Manasquan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Red Cross in Virginia's name.
