Walter Julius Schoefer, 94, of Kippens, NFLD, formerly of Toms River and Manoloking, NJ, passed away on March 30, 2013, at his home. Born on April 30, 1918 in Hamburg, Germany. He immigrated with his parents to the USA in 1924.

He served in the U.S. Navy and is a WWII veteran. After the war, he resided in Toms River with his family for 20 years. In 1959, he moved to Stephenville, NFLD with four of his daughters. He founded two international construction companies: Stateside Construction and Bond Engineering. As an entrepreneur, he had great vision and business acumen in international trade and markets. Years later, he met and married his wife and raised two sons together.

He is survived by his wife, Ina Schoefer; his daughters and husbands, Cathi & Bill Milner, Connie & Art Willms, Karen & Tony Newsom; his sons and wives, Craig & Cris Schoefer, Walter & Amanda Schoefer; one niece and husband, Cindy & John Kane; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Julius and Helene Schoefer; his sister, Hildegarde Price; his daughters, Julia Schoefer, Loralee Schoefer, and Peggy Mims; and his grandson, Tab Sport.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 am Saturday, July 13 at Riverside Cemetery, Route 166, Old Freehold Rd., Toms River, NJ. Officiating Pastor: Bruce Ewen. The family request in lieu of flowers to send donations to The Wounded Warriors Fund.
