Bill, we miss you here in the Big Apple. People used to ask me why I came all the way in from Manhattan to see my Dentist in New Jersey. It could have been enough to say that Bill Orlacchio was a great dentist, but it seems more fitting to say he loved Opera, Pastrami, More Pastrami and Garlic Dill Pickles. Trying to explain to my friends that my dentist would take a bite of a Carnegie Deli Pastrami on Rye, sip on a Dr. Browns Original Creme and then continue working on the inside of my mouth, while chewing, drinking soda and humming (out of tune), the Opera Aria he so loved to accompany so much. We always laughed about what kind of cologne I was going to wear next time I visited the office, knowing all too well, Judy Sabo was allergic to the smell of cologne, and perfume. We sometimes laughed so hard, that the people sitting in the waiting room thought someone was crying in pain. OK, so now you know. He really loved food, Jewish food, and Jackie Mason and his hysterical jokes, like, Mister Mister, take my wife. Bill Orlacchio was just a really great man who loved his patients and his job as much as he truly loved his family. He is missed. A friend & Patient, Bill Gilinsky

I will always remember Dr. Orlacchio as long as there are Overstuffed, delicious Pastrami Sandwiches in New York City. Our friendship started with Classical Music being played while Bill drilled, filed and remade the new crowns that eventually allowed me to chew the Sandwiches that he insisted I bring with me everytime I travelled from NYC to see him. I didn't really get his sense of humor until he had Judy call me from the office and tell me it's been over 3 months since he's seen me for my yearly exam, and he thinks that my yearly appointments should be moved up to every 3 months. Well, who can argue with that logic. Of course with the cost of travel on the NJ Transit, came the cost of a Carnegie Deli over stuffed Pastrami on rye, a half sour garlic pickle and 2 Dr. Browns Original Creme Sodas. Let's just say this, I feel sorry for the patients sitting in the waiting room listening to the sounds of satisfaction coming from the examination room including the dramatic oo's and ah's of satisfaction from Dr. O. Judy Sabo and me eating the most delicious meal on this planet. The office smelled great. The visit was a success. I looked forward to having my yearly examination again in 3 months. BOY DO I MISS MY FRIEND BILL.

Bill, Those of us who love classical and broadway music miss you and your love for the melodies that played on your sound system in your office. Occasionally, the pitch of the drill matched the pitch of the song being sung and I would always laugh. I happened to agree with you on so many subjects and I miss those wonderful conversations we had about politics, food and how the world has changed. You are sorely missed my friend. God Bless Dr. O

Bill, I know you can hear me, so I'll be truly honest. Since your passing, the world has become unrecognizable on so many levels. I miss your humor, your choice of music, and, your political views, which often times ended in laughing out loud, knowing we couldn't do a darn thing about it, but mostly, I miss your love for Carnegie Deli Pastrami Sandwiches, which were a prerequisite for each of my appointments. You would set up a space in your back room for us to "nosh" on the 1 pound greasy delicious Carnegie Deli sandwich, the Garlic Dill and of course the original Dr. Browns Cream. Besides being the best dentist I've ever had, I miss your humor and your friendship. You loved your family, your family of friends and your job. It was heaven on earth and your passion was present in everything you did for everyone around the world. God bless you Bill. We miss you!

To me, Bill Orlacchio was not only a wonderful dentist, but he was a great man and a terrific friend. Someone who loved great music but unfortunately couldn't hum in tune. OMG, he always asked me why I was laughing while sitting in the chair? He was then, and still is today one of the most generous people I've ever met in my life. His volunteer efforts, worldwide, were not to be believed. He was a dentist's dentist yet he never said a derogatory word about any other doctors he knew. He and all his office staff made it worthwhile and fun for me to rent a car, or take NJ Transit to Hazlet where Judy Sabo would pick me up in her smoke filled Dodge. Of course I had to bring her a Carnegie Deli Corned Beef along with Bill's extra meat Pastrami otherwise I wouldn't be allowed an occasional Cornucopia Lunch, compliments of Dr. O. His personality, his intense likes and and even more intense dislikes and his choices of food. Bill Orlacchio, you are sorely missed and on Mar. 11th I'll lite a Yahrzeit Candle in your memory while eating the biggest greasiest most tender Pastrami Sandwich NYC has to offer.

Bill, I truly think the world, ESPECIALLY NOW, needs a free thinking, intelligent man like yourself around to remind us of how great this nation is. I miss your sense of humor, your giving and generous nature and of course the love you had for human kind. G-d bless you Bill. You are sorely missed by me and those who knew you so well. Love to Anita and the kids. Bill Gilinsky

Anita, it's been 5 years since I posted my thoughts about the importance of Bill's friendship and professionalism to not only myself but the people that knew him as a dentist and a friend. On many occasions, since 2011, I've thought about him and smiled, in fact, laughed out loud. I would like to share a side of Bill that many of those people posting comments might identify with and comment on as well. This is what I remember about Bill. Tell me if I'm even close. Bill was a tremendous dentist, friend, advocate and couldn't sing or hum in tune even if you gave him a thousand dollars. He always had classical music playing on his sound system. The greatest opera singers (BTW, that's my profession, a professional singer and stage manger for Opera and Musicals) and Broadway legends emanating from the acoustically perfect sound system he had installed in his offices. And then there was Bill, standing over me, poking my gums, and pulling and cleaning my teeth, and humming along with the beautiful voices coming out of the speakers at the top of his lungs! He kept asking why I'm not sitting still and what's the problem. I told him I was coughing because of the pastrami sandwich I ate prior to coming in for my exam. Oh yes, I almost forgot. I live in Manhattan and would ALWAYS bring him and Judy Sabo a corned beef or pastrami sandwich from Carnegie Deli. Bill liked Pastrami. And often would be taking a bite of the sandwich between pokes. The smell of the Pastrami on his breath along with the sound of his off tune humming and lets not forget Judy Sabo running in and out of the office complaining that a patient was wearing perfume and she was allergic to perfume? Well, I think you get the picture. Had he not been the greatest Dentist I ever knew and the biggest Opera fan the would ever knew and a person, who like me, loved to eat Jewish Deli Food, I would not be the person I am today. A better person having known this uncomplicated, simple, lovely intelligent caring and professional person we used to call Dr. O. I miss you Bill. Yes, even your humming.

What a shock to learn of Bill's passing last night! We were neighbors at Park Village for 22 years. Bill was a staple there and served as our Board Association President for 11 years. His tenacity and concern for PV's owners will be unsurpassed. I will never forget how Bill, without hesitation, opened his office very late the evening of Dec. 27, 1996 to resolve my tooth problem. It was the night before my Dad's funeral who had just passed Dec.24, 1996.
Bill will be sorely missed by many.
May our Lord Jesus Christ grant you strength and peace during this time.

How terribly sad to learn of Bill's passing. If there ever was a man of life it was Bill. I will always remember him as a wonderful business neighbor and friend with whom I shared many great moments on the Park Village
Board. He was a man of great wisdom, courage and spirit who will always be remembered for his leadership and for doing the "right thing."

My deepest sympathy. It was an honor and a privilege to know Dr O, and to be his patient. He was the most talented and caring doctor I ever encountered.

About 25 years ago I worked at Bayshore Hospital. Whenever I saw him in a hall he always gave a quick hello. That simple action was atypical of other Doctors I at the time. Seems he was a well regarded gentleman. God bless his family during this difficult time.
PS I was a dishwasher in the hospital Kitchen at the time.
