I was absolutely shocked to hear the bad news. I just saw Dr. Robinson in May for my semi-annual visit. Everytime I walked in the door, it was like family. Dr. Robinson had a way about him that showed that he really cared about people. He was definitely one of the good ones and will be sorely missed. As a patient of about 30 years, only seeing him twice a year and occasionally around town, he always greeted me with a friendly face and kind words, not something that is taught in dental/medical school. He was truely a gentleman. My wife only had the opportunity to know him for the past seven years, but he changed her view on dentistry and she religiously went every six months because he made her feel comfortable. To his family and staff, you were the lucky ones that had the opportunity to see and speak with him everyday. May his memory be a tribute to the great man he was.

Dear Karen & Family,
We are so saddened at the passing of a great dentist, friend and boss. I shall treasure all the years I have know Dr. Robinson from the days we worked together at the Fort Monmouth Dental Clinic until working as his receptionist for the past 17 years. He truly was a great kind and compassionate person to me and my family during my illness. We will keep you all in our prayers.

To the Robinson family- I was shocked and saddened to find out Dr. Robinson died. He was always so helpful, and he helped me so much with my dental problems, and his personal touch. I remember starting with him when he first opened his practice on his own now over 20 years ago. I will really miss him and always enjoyed talking to him. He was a good man and always explained things and a great dentist. My condolences, and my prayers go out to you.

Dear Karen and Family,
It is with great sorrow and a heavy heart that I strive, along with all those who knew and admired Dr. William Robinson, to fathom the loss of your husband, your father, and my dearest childhood friend, Billy Robinson. It seems like only yesterday, we were in Junior High and then High School together, reveling in the endless festivities of youth, swimming and surfing along the beloved East Coast beaches, and planning for life’s adventures that were yet to come. You may not realize this, but Billy was the much-loved “adoptive” son of my parents: Carol and Fred Hall. You see, I was much too wild and unruly at heart to remain in Middletown, to fulfill such a responsible role – but thankfully Billy stayed, and prospered, and my ailing family gained a constant and shining light with his presence, benefiting greatly from his companionship, his calm and abiding compassion, and his warm and caring personality. I, for one, shall always be grateful for the time and effort that Billy spent in filling this void in my family with such grace.
As you know, Billy and I lost touch in later years, as we both grew to adulthood and strived to serve our respective roles in society in different parts of the world. I understand that Doctor Robinson was well loved and respected by many who knew him, and the many patients he cared for. I also know that you, Karen, and your children were the true love of his life – thus, he was a truly happy man. Alas, life comes and goes from us all in the blink of an eye, and not even true love can still the mortal passage of time. At this moment of great grief and loss, want you to know that I am grieving with you, missing my childhood friend and companion, yet striving to celebrate his life, holding him dear in my thoughts, my memories, and my personal prayers – knowing that there is a special place in the highest heaven for such magnanimous friends.
Sincerely,
Dr. Frederick L. Hall

Karen and children,
I am so sad to hear about Dr. Robinson's passing. I just saw him on May 30th. He was always asking me about my family and telling me about his. He was so compassionate to my mother who was fearful of dentists; especially when she was very ill with cancer. I have gone to him for 25 years..you and I were pregnant with our boys together. I will pray for you and the kids. You are in my thoughts.
I did not know he passed until today or I would have been at the services.

My 19 year old son, Karl, just told me of Dr Robinsons' passing, Bill....was always sincere, warm and genuinely interested in hearing about my family, having taken care of my two children and myself for many years. He's watched them grow up and in turn I've heard so many heartfelt stories about his family, especially about his children. he was always willing to share experiences and offer advice, knowing I was a single Mom.. We am so saddened by his passing. I can't imagine not seeing him standing behind the receptionist desk, laughing with Betsy. A great loss for us all. My heart goes out to Karen and the children.
