William Timney Obituary
AGE: 79 •
William Joseph Timney 79, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017. He was born in Jersey City to William J. Timney and Sarah Brogan Timney.
William graduated from St. Peter's College and proudly served our country in the Army during the Vietnam War, earning two meritorious service commendations, and retired from service with the Army Reserves. He was a self-employed photographer, he loved to write, and he was a communicant of St. Leo the Great R.C. Church. A past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 6392 in Lincroft, William mostly loved spending time with family and friends.
William is survived by his beloved wife Mary Nestor Timney and his loving children: William J. Timney, Jr. (Ann), Michael Timney (Lori), Matthew Timney (Janice), Mary Fisher (Christopher), Sara Foley (Timothy), and Jane Glemming (James). Also, surviving are his 15 adoring grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Leo the Great R.C. Church, 50 Hurleys Ln, Lincroft, NJ on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 10:15 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in William's memory to GiGi's Playhouse, National Down Syndrome Achievement Centers, 450 Amwell Road - Suite H, Hillsborough, NJ 08844, [email protected] (908) 829-5331.

Wow - I will really miss Bill's waves as we drove down our street. He was always cheery and welcoming and it was a treat to see his smile.

John Adams said that to do good and be good was all we had to do; if that is the case, Bill had it made, for he will be remembered for his uncommon wit & charm, his great sense of humor, the simple pleasures he enjoyed, the many friends he loved, and who loved him, and for the great family he raised with his Mary.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...
It's about learning to dance in the rain.
Requiescat in pace, old pal.

Unfortunately I didn't know your husband and father but from what I've learned he was a great person-kind,personable and loving. I do know how hard it is to lose someone you love but I know with your large family you will have your memories, your stories, the love in your heart and each other to help you get the strength to get through this sad time. My thoughts, prayers and affection go out to you, Mary and your family.
