Anna Nordahl Obituary

Loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Anna Pearl Nordahl, long time resident of Yuba City passed away on June 2, 2011. Born April 21, 1920, Pearl was raised in the farming town of Patricksburg, Indiana. As a young adult during World War II, Pearl joined the WAVES (the Women's Navy), and it was while stationed in California that she met and married her husband. After the war Pearl and her husband Charles Edward Nordahl, both attended Indiana University where Pearl received a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1954, Pearl and Edward moved to Yuba City and raised their family. Pearl was the steadfast presence in the lives of her six children, Thomas (Melanie), John, Marie (Greg), Carol (Jess), Robert (Magda) and David (Sandy). She was also the selfless and caring grandmother of Caroline, Blake, Lisa, Garrett, Anna, Kristin, Elizabeth, Erik, Samuel, Megan, Christopher, Timothy, Jennifer, and Katelyn; and joyful great grandmother of Clara, Ryan and Adrian. Pearl was co-owner of Nordahl Christian Supplies in Yuba City for 28 years. She was always a farmer at heart, and did all that she could to fill her small backyard with fruit trees, vegetables, and flowers. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years. Pearl was a kind and loving Christian woman with a warm smile for everyone she met. Anna Pearl Nordahl will continue to live on in the unconditional love she gave others. Graveside Service Friday, June 17th, 10am Sutter Cemetery. Memorial Service Saturday, June 18th, 11am Gray Avenue Christian Church, 1524 Gray Avenue, Yuba City, CA. I had not seen Mrs. Nordahl for many years, but I can still see her gracious smile, hear her soft, kind voice, and feel the warmth of her welcoming manner. My sympathy to Tom and Melanie, to John, and to her entire family.

Years ago Pearl and I worked together. She was extremely gracious and kind to all she was in contact with ... always with a radiating smile. I remember especially how she loved her family and spoke of them often. My prayers reach out to the family during this difficult time.

I will always remember Mrs. Nordahl for her sweet, gentle and warm smile (especially her eyes), her soft and kind words and her heartfelt and genuine love that she had for people. She truly was a servant of God, personified; in that she would go above and beyond to look for what you were wanting. She touched many lives with the love of the Lord while here on earth, and is now rejoicing with the Father and loved ones in heaven.
