Beatrice Rohm Obituary

Beatrice M. Rohm 79, of Yuba City, passed away January 30, 2012. Born April 22, 1932 in Maui Hawaii.

Beatrice was an exceptional nurse which began when she was awarded outstanding student of her graduating class. Her nursing years took place in the Intensive Care Unit, Care Flights operating room, Emergency Pacemaker and was a Coronary Class assistant. She was voted the very first nurse of the year at Rideout Hospital. She retired from nursing in 1997.

Bea was very proud of her Japanese heritage.

She had a love for her family and friends. She was somebody who was always there for you, no matter what was going on in her life, showing how selfless she was.

Her sense of humor was recognized by everyone who knew her. Gardening was her favorite past time which was so appropriate since she was born on Earth Day.

The love and care she showed her patients and their families, her co-workers and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include son, Billy D. Rohm of Yuba City; daughters: Donna Rohm of Olivehurst, Mary Rohm- Triplett of Yuba City, and Sue Ann Rohm of Reno, NV; seven grandchildren and one great grandson.

Per Beatrice's request a private graveside service for family only will be held.

To Bea's Family,
I too worked with Bea in Intensive care and she was the best! She was so smart and always wanting to learn more. Her patients were always well cared for and she was the one you always wanted with you on a code! Her gardening skills surpassed anything I have seen in ages! I will miss her! Be assured that she will be alive in the hearts of many of us for a LONG time since so many of us were impacted by this great lady!!

To all of Bea's family,
I worked with Bea at Rideout in the ICU for many years - she taught me and a lot of nurses sooo much - about cardiac rhythms and in general, what it meant to provide compassionate care. She was a great nurse - she will be missed.

Bea was my mentor when I first started in nursing. She helped me so much and was a wonderful friend. She was a great nurse and I remember the days when it was Bea who was called to ride in the ambulance to Sacramento with critical patients. She helped many people and touched many lives. My thoughts and prayers go out to her loved ones. She was always so proud of her family. May she rest in peace.
