Betty Phares Obituary


Betty L. Phares, 92, of Marysville, CA, died peacefully in her sleep January 26, 2019, in Clovis, CA. She was born February 1, 1926, in Lincoln, NE, to Alfred and Violet Morford.

As a longtime resident, Betty worked as a teacher, then as a secretary for both a local Doctor's office and at Beale Air Force Base.

After retirement she continued to be active in her community working at voting polls and volunteering as a Pink Lady at Rideout Memorial Hospital.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Terri Thompson; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Makahn Shafer; daughter and son-in-law, Cheri and Mickey Melton; eight grandchildren, Jaime, Jill, Jesse, Lindsay, Cody, Perrin, Luana and Bramwell; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband Paul L. Phares.

Dear friends may Betty Rest In Peace as she wait s for Resurrection morning. We were church family with Betty an Paul in the Yuba City Seventh-Day Adventist church. Betty was a very kind lady. She always had a smile. Iremember Paul use to hand cough drops out to people.When I first started working in our Dorcus center in the late 1980's The ladies gave me a quilt that Her Dad made After working there for 3 yrs. I still sleep under that quilt. Please accept our condolences . I still miss seeing old friends from Yuba City church, but we will have a wonderful family reunion one day. Blessings & peace to your family.
