Charles Damm Obituary

Chief Master Sargent Charles Damm, retired, passed away on August 27, 2025. He was born in rural Lecompton, KS, in December of 1931.

He attended a one room school house and upon graduation from high school, rather than continuing on the family farm, he joined the Air Force and served for 29 years including a tour in Vietnam.

He was an active member of Gray Avenue Christian Church for many years. He and his wife, of 68 years, traveled to all 50 states sight seeing and visiting friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Damm; four daughters, Stephannie (Joe) Vasquez, Grass Valley, CA, Jennifer (Scott) Lowden, Yuba City, CA, Judi Damm, Reno, NV, and Sally (Bob) Morgan, Marysville, CA; eight grandchildren, Rachael, Rhianon and Robert Vasquez, Carson and Michael Lowden, Jessika (Ed) Picton, and Justin and Alexis Morgan; two great-grandchildren, Ben, and Jax Picton; and sister, Norma Lynch, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mable Damm; sister, Betty Carothers; infant daughter, Paula Ann; and grandson, Jason Rex.

Services will be held at Ullrey Memorial Chapel at 11 AM, on October 2, 2025, with a reception immediately following at Gray Avenue Christian Church, Yuba City, CA.

Burial will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery at 10:30 AM, on October 3, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to Gray Avenue Christian Church or charitable organization of your choice as a way to honor his memory.
