Corene Garcia Obituary
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, of 63 years, Daniel; and their children, Todd (Kristie), Carrie, Julie (Darren), and Joel (Karen). She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Emily, Abby, Corrina, Maria, Alexander, and Sophia.
Corene was born to Elwood and Fay McPherrin and raised on her family's sheep ranch in the Sutter Buttes.
A third-generation Sutter County resident, she attended Sutter schools, the University of California, and Heald Business College.
She met Dan while working as an executive secretary at IBM Corporation in Oakland, CA. The two were married on June 1, 1963, at Old St. Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco, CA.
She will be remembered for her sparkling personality, her enduring friendships, and her unwavering love for her family. Her life was rooted in faith, which was a guiding light in all that she did.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marysville, CA, on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 1 PM, and she will be laid to rest at Sutter Cemetery.
