Daniel Herold Ahart, Jr., 71, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, with his wife, Catherine (Foley) Ahart, by his side at his home in Williams, CA.
Daniel was born in Marysville, CA, on February 8, 1954, to Daniel Ahart, Sr., and Sandra (Manwell) Ahart.
He was raised in Honcut, CA, where his father was a sheep rancher. He graduated from Saint Joseph Catholic School in 1968, and then from Marysville High School in 1972, where he played football.
When Daniel was just 17 years old, he purchased his first hay truck and began hauling. Daniel loved people and adventure. He spent much of his young adulthood hauling hay, which is how he met his wife, Catherine (Foley) Ahart.
Although his heart was in ranching and farming, he also had interest in commercial fishing. Daniel loved the simple things in life, friends and family, good food, football, and he was an incredible storyteller.
He loved his family and cared deeply about his children and grandchildren. Daniel had a big heart and would always help someone in need.
He is preceded in death by his son, Michael James Ahart; father; mother; and his brothers, Jeffrey Ahart and Samuel Ahart.
Daniel is survived by his sons and daughter, Craig Daniel Ahart, of Sebastopol, CA, Joseph Michael Ahart, of Redding, CA, Peter Patrick Ahart, of Adel, OR, and Catherine "Katie" Maureen Ahart, of Winters, CA; grandchildren, Michael Joseph Ahart and Catherine Elizabeth Ahart of Redding, CA, Nora Nolan and Finnegan Nolan of Winters, CA, and Dallas Ahart and Travis Ahart of Sebastopol, CA; wife, and devoted partner, Catherine (Foley) Ahart of Williams, CA; and sister, Paula (Randy) Panfilio of Susanville, CA.
Rosary will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 4 PM, at Lipp and Sullivan, 629 D. Street, Marysville, CA.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 14, 2025, at 10:30 AM, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 702 C. Street, Marysville, CA.
A private burial will be held at a later date for the family.

charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank those whose friendship enriched Daniel's life.
