Delores Nelson Obituary
Delores "Dee" Muriel Nelson, age 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2017, in Fallbrook, Ca, after her courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Dee was born on July 14, 1942, in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, to the late William Shaffer and Wava Shaffer-Gray. She was raised in Sun Valley, Ca. Dee married Joseph "Joe" Nelson on January 28, 1968, in Van Nuys, Ca, and shortly thereafter relocated to Sutter, Ca, whereby she resided for 48-years.
She worked a variety of jobs throughout her life which included The Green Sheet Newspaper (Van Nuys, Ca), Advertising Ad type-setter, an Assistant to the Editor for the Sacramento Union Newspaper, and was in Marketing / Real Estate Sales for Dunmore Homes.
Dee is survived by her husband, Joe, 6 children; DeeDee (Jim) Perigo, Donna (Kent) Churchill-Hamel, Dan (Debbie) Churchill, Joe (Deanne) Nelson, Rachel (Nelson) Williams, Annette Nelson, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers; Kenneth W. Shaffer and William Wurtz, 1 niece, and 1 nephew.
Family, friends and so many other lives Dee touched are invited to attend the 1pm, Friday, January 26, 2018. Gravesite Services at Sutter Cemetery, 7200 Butte House Road, Sutter, Ca 95982.

You always here how men hate the mother law not me. Dee always treated me with great respect. I will miss playing games with her especially cards. Love you nana rest in peace.
