Frances Harris

Frances Suenderman Harris, a long-time resident of Yuba City, CA, and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 20, 2025, at 87.

Born January 9, 1938, in San Francisco, CA, to Frank and Helen Suenderman, Frances was a proud native of the city.

She graduated from Balboa High School in 1955, and later began working as a secretary for the Alcoholic Beverage Control office in San Francisco. This job held a special place in her life, as it was where she met her beloved husband, Ronald Harris.

In 1972, Frances and her family moved to Yuba City, CA, where she built a life centered around service and family.

When her children were young, she was a constant and supportive presence, serving as a Little League Team Mom, running the snack bar, volunteering as a Cub Scout Den Leader, and helping in the classroom.

Her faith was also a cornerstone of her life. Soon after moving to Yuba City, her new friend and later best friend, Pat Okimoto invited her to St. John's Episcopal Church in Marysville, CA.

She loved St. John's and served the congregation faithfully for many years as both the church secretary and treasurer.

Frances was a woman of incredible strength and resilience, a fact she proved as a proud cancer survivor.

She had a wonderful zest for life and loved the excitement of a trip to the casino to play the slot machines. She was also a passionate and lifelong fan of the San Francisco 49ers, cheering them on through every season.

She is survived by her son, David; her grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob, and Megan; and her great-grandchildren, Easton, Ryker, and Asher.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Helen Suenderman; her beloved husband, Ronald; and her son, Stephan.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at St. James of Jerusalem Episcopal Church in Yuba City, CA.
