Jean Jacuzzi Obituary

Jean Pfeiffer Jacuzzi, 88, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away suddenly on November 29, 2018.

Jean was born in Sonoma, CA, on December 13, 1929, the first of three children of David Alan and Bernice Pfeiffer. She graduated with honors from Sonoma Valley High School, where her father was the principal, and the University of California, Berkeley, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. At Berkeley she met and fell in love with Daniele Jacuzzi of Brentwood, CA. They were married on June 25, 1950, in Berkeley and shared their lives for 68 years. They were blessed with four children, David Gelindo (Glorianne) Jacuzzi of Newark, CA, Rosanne Jacuzzi of Washington, D.C. and Daniel Craig (Nan) Jacuzzi of Yuba City. She was preceded in death by their daughter Gail Jacuzzi Ruddock and son-in-law Stephen Ruddock.

Jean worked as a substitute teacher for many years, but her primary love was being a good homemaker for her husband and children. Jean had a ready smile and loved to cook and bake for her family. She had a sweet tooth and always could be counted on to have something sweet ready to share with others. She was an avid gardener and a lover of flowers. She enjoyed working in the garden and decorating her home with flowers. She also loved the wild things and tall trees on their property in Strawberry Valley. She could name a tree by its bark or cone!

Jean loved to travel and enjoyed many U.S. and Europe trips, but she especially enjoyed cruising with family and friends. She was on fifteen cruises, four of which were with all her children, spouses, and grandchildren. In addition to traveling, Jean very much enjoyed hosting family and friends at their cabin in Strawberry Valley.
A resident of Yuba City since 1965, Jean was always an active community member - PTA president; Girl Scout Leader, Camp Fire Girls leader, and other activities. She was a founding member of the Sutter Buttes Garden Club, supporting the Garden Club's annual plant sale with contributions nurtured in her garden. She was a founding and active member of the Valley Quilt Guild and enjoyed quilting and sewing, making much of her daughters' wardrobe as they were growing up. She was also a proud member of the American Association of University Women.

In addition to her children, Jean is survived by her brother Alan (Pat) Pfeiffer of Walnut Creek, CA, a sister, Mary Crow of Bellevue, Washington, four grandchildren, Thomas, Matthew, Alec and Lisa, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean's life of kindness will be remembered at a CELEBRATION OF LIFE in the Plaza Room, 210 Julie Drive (Hillcrest Plaza) on December 30, 2018, at 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, Jean's family would appreciate donations in her memory to the Nature Conservancy, or a charity of your choosing.

We met the Jacuzzi's when they and my parents were in PTA. What a wonderful family. Jean was generous with her time, talents, knowledge and smile. You always felt special when you were spending time with her. She was a brilliant seamstress, cook and friend. But her greatest skill was as a wife, mother and grandmother. She made it look easy. She will truly be missed by everyone who was blessed with knowing her. With our deepest sympathies and love to all of her family. Phil and Linda Perkins
