Jose Feliciano

Jose Feliciano, 59, Yuba City, CA, peacefully passed away at home on December 21, 2016 at 9:10 am.

Born and raised in Bronx, NY, Mr. Feliciano always loved the city and enjoyed going to see Broadway plays and experiencing everything that the city had to offer. As a young adult he enlisted in the Air Force and made his way to Beale Air Force Base where he fell in love with the community and settled in Yuba City.

Mr. Feliciano was a man of many talents but his passion was for teaching. He opened New Horizon Martial Arts in 1999, but eventually changed the name to Rising Sun Martial Arts. Throughout the years as an instructor he was more than a teacher of Tae Kwon Do, he loved being a mentor and helping his students prepare for their life beyond the studio. He was always proud to see his students grow up and move on to become doctors and lawyers and other great professionals, but he felt the most proud knowing that his students grew to be good, honest, respectful and responsible people. It always made him smile when his students came back to visit and tell him about all they were accomplishing out in the world.

Mr. Feliciano is survived by his daughter, Sixta Eggen and son, Dominic Feliciano of Yuba City, CA. son-in-law Chris Eggen of Yuba City, CA, and three grandchildren, Emely Feliciano, Anthony Feliciano and Charlie Eggen.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sixta Feliciano; his sister Aracelis Feliciano and brother Angel Luis Rivera.

A service will be held in honor of his life at Lakeside Colonial Chapel located at 830 D St., Marysville, CA, 95901 on December 30, 2016 at 4pm.
