Joshua Morris Obituary

Joshua Alonzo Morris, 32, of Browns Valley, CA, passed away on January 9, 2021, in Garden Grove, California.

Josh was born in Yuba City, CA, to Tawnya Roberts and Fred Morris, on December 31, 1988. He graduated from Yuba City High School in 2007. He was involved in football, and wrestling, while attending YCHS, and has loved the Oakland Raiders and the LA Dodgers his entire life.

He worked many different jobs during his life, but Joshua was most proud of his certification in HVAC and worked many years in that industry. Joshua had a passion for cooking and was fortunate to have many opportunities to share his unique tastes with others as a sous chef in various restaurants in Southern California.

He married Bethany Ann Bridges, on October 31, 2018, in Sutter County at a private ceremony. Everyone that knew Josh saw that his boys were the light of his life and he loved that they looked just like him.

Josh enjoyed dressing up for Halloween in family themed costumes and decorating his home for the holiday. There are not enough words to explain how much he will be missed, and how deep the love for him is, and always will be.

Josh is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bill and Peggy Morris; and maternal grandparents, Judy Griswold and Albert Roberts.

Josh is survived by his children, Jaxson Morris and Lincoln Bridges-Morris; his wife, Bethany Bridges; and stepchildren, Jackson and Ezekiel; father, Frederick Morris; mother, Tawnya Hoffman and stepfather, William Hoffman; sister, Stephanie Morris and her children Graeson and Addilynn Morris. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

Viewing is open to the public Wednesday, January 27, 2021, from 4pm to 7pm, at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond St., Yuba City, CA. Come anytime and stay as long as you would like.

All are welcome to attend the graveside services, Thursday, January 28, 2021, 12pm, at Peoria Cemetery, 6240 Marysville Rd., Browns Valley, CA. Guests are welcome to bring a sticker or decal that reminds them of Josh to place on his casket.

Reception to immediately follow at Ponderosa Community Center, 17103 Ponderosa Way, Brownsville, CA.

The family will be providing food and beverages from a local food truck. We would love to have everyone attend and share stories about Josh. Masks are requested by the family to be worn at the services.

In lieu of cut flowers please send live plants to be planted in a garden in his honor. Plants may be sent to Ullrey Memorial Chapel or to his parents at their home address.
