I was a 5th grade teacher at Barry School and my second year of teaching I was assigned a 5/6 split class. Kaljit was one of my 6th grade students. He was incredibly smart, funny, and kind. He was basically the "helper" of the ten sixth graders I had, and checked in with me often like a junior teacher. I just loved him. Recently we had talked about me visiting him in Sacramento when I came down from Oregon to visit my son. He was very excited about a visit and spent some time telling me about his life as an adult when we messaged each other. The world needs souls like his. He was just wonderful.
