LaDonna Songer Obituary
LaDonna R. Songer, peacefully passed away on October 3, 2021 at the age of 91. She was born on July 5, 1930, in the small town of Delfis, Kansas. At the age of five, LaDonna and family, left Kansas and headed west, settling down in Marysville, California, and never left.
She met her soulmate, Delbert E. Songer, at the age of (18) eighteen and married soon after. She was the oldest of two, Lyle Dean Smith, her brother preceded her in death.
LaDonna is survived by her three children, Sue Jenkins (Ed) of Sacramento, Kirk R. Songer (Connie) of Live Oak and Jim M Songer (Annie) of Loma Rica. Including seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
After raising her children, she went to work at different department stores, then spent over
(20) twenty plus years, working for Yuba County Building and grounds before retiring.
LaDonna was a very faithful member of St. Joseph Church, often attending mass daily, if not attending mass, she would do whatever they needed for help. She attended Notre Dame Elementary School and graduated from Notre Dame High School for girls only in Marysville, California, they closed down soon after.
Del and LaDonna, loved taking their fifth wheel to local foothills and lakes to go fishing and camping. They joined the Yuba Buttes RV Club for many years. With their friends, they often went to Baha Mexico to fish the gulf. Later they bought a SeaRay ocean boat. One of LaDonna's favorite trips was taking the boat up the inland passage to Canada for several weeks. She was also a member of Peach Tree Golf Clu b. They went with club members on cruises, and to many different resorts in Mexico, which they loved dearly. LaDonna and church members went to Rome, Italy, to visit many Cathedrals.
There will be a viewing at Lipp and Sullivan Funeral Directors, in Marysville on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, from 2PM to 8PM. There will be a Mass at St. Joseph church in Marysville on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 10:00 AM. Burial at Sierra View Mortuary and Memorial Park following service.

I played golf with LaDonna. We joined Del and her on a Mexico trip. I would frequently see her at daily Mass. She was "a lady" through and through, thoughtful, giving, with a sense of humor.
